Black people offended by stereotypical story!

I was taping my DVD in Huntington, West Virginia at the Funnybone Comedy Club in February and I told a story about how my black friend Tyrone stereotyped me on 9/11.  For some odd reason a group of three black men and a white woman that thought she was black decided they were offended.  If it was a joke MAYBE I would understand but it was a true story and it was in a comedy club!  Here’s the video of what happened.

My 2008 New York Arab American Comedy Festival Adventure, Part 1: Road to the festival.

The 2008 New York Arab American Comedy Festival was yet another high point in my 11 year stand up comedy career. This came almost six years after I first performed in New York in 2002 with Dean Obeidallah (organizer of the festival). This show was called the Arab American Comedy Tour.

Dayton, Ohio home of the baby microwaving mom, the murdered Marine Maria Lauterbach and people who hate Muslims!

What the hell is going on in Dayton, Ohio? 2007 ended with the trial of China Arnold, a woman who microwaved her baby.  2008 started with a missing pregnant Marine, Maria Lauterbach, originally from Dayton, who was murdered, burned and buried in the back yard of a house.

And this is why I don’t bet on sports….

Ok….so OSU lost yesterday.  I’ll admit it…. If we won I would’ve posted a blog bragging.  The reality of the matter is LSU was the best team yesterday and I won’t make any excuses.  Now I have to back up my big mouth and go buy an LSU shirt and take a picture wearing it.  I think I’m going to throw up…..

All I have to say is if you’re can’t accept OSU is a great team then don’t let me catch you at the store buying a new OSU shirt next January because you’re a front runner!

OHIO STATE IS #1….END OF STORY! (I’m putting my money where my mouth is!)

Let me start by saying I spent part of my college career at Ohio State so I’m not one of those front runners that are wearing shirts with creases in them. I’m a Buckeye through and through. Now on to my problem….

New reality show creates a new celebrity EVERY DAY!

In the midst of a writer’s strike, Hollywood is looking for new talent. I just saw a new commercial for a reality show called BIG SHOT LIVE. This show stars comedian Todd Glass, Brian Huskey and Eddie Pepitone. They will fly one person to Hollywood every day to pursue their dreams! The categories you can submit to are modeling, singing, dancing, acting, TV host, comedy and sports.

Comedian Gary Owen goes off on heckler for 45 minutes! (partial video clip included).

So last night I went up to the Dayton Funnybone to hang out on open mic night. Gary Owen was closing the show and since we’re both working together this weekend I thought I’d go up and say hi to him. Gary is probably one of the nicest guys you’ll meet in this business. Very mellow off stage but when he gets on stage he turns into supercomedian!
